537 million adults around the world are living with diabetes, accounting for a diabetes prevalence of 30.8% in Pakistan. World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on November 14th to raise awareness about the growing concerns of diabetes and its impact on people's lives. This year's theme is "Access to Diabetes Care", focusing on the importance of early diagnosis, timely treatment and access to quality care for people living with diabetes.

On 13th November, 2023 an event was held at Governor House Punjab on the occasion of World Diabetes Day. Getz Pharma in collaboration with Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine and Pakistan Endocrine Society, organized the event in which more than 100 diabetologist and endocrinologist were awarded token of appreciation/recognition for contribution in the field of managing diabetes in Pakistan by Governor of Punjab, Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman & Health Minister Punjab, Dr. Javed Akram.
