On the 15th of November 2023, the city of Karachi played host to a distinguished event commemorating World Diabetes Day at the Marriott Hotel. The event was organized by Pinnacle Biotech in collaboration with the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM), Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences, and the College of Family Medicine Pakistan.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Ejaz Vohra, an eminent figure in the healthcare sector. The Guest of Honour and primary organizer was none other than Prof. Dr. Zaman Shaikh, an illustrious personality and Ex-president of the Pakistan Endocrine Society, renowned for his expertise as an endocrinologist.
The highlight of the event was the insightful presentation on diabetes awareness and preventive measures, delivered by the newly elected president of the Pakistan Endocrine Society, Dr. Ayesha Sheikh.
The event was expertly moderated by Dr. Shehla Naseem, a member of the College of Family Medicine Pakistan.
Among the notable participants were Prof. Dr. Yusuf Kamal, Prof. Dr. Tasnim Ahsan, Prof. Dr. Saeed A Mehar, Prof. Dr. Akhter Ali Baloch, Prof. Dr. Zakir Alvi, Prof. Dr. Masroor Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Tahir Husain, and many more. Their collective expertise and dedication to advancing the understanding and treatment of diabetes were evident, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and shared knowledge.
