The Romanian Society of Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases organized on World Diabetes Day 2023 an extensive educational campaign on diabetes and its complications. The campaign "Diabetes without complications" ran on Antena3 CNN for a period of 10 days, during which materials containing useful information and tips on diabetes were broadcast 100 times! The video messages were provided by 30 diabetes specialists, members of the Society.
The Society also held a press conference on November 14, 2023 with the purpose of drawing attention to the impact of diabetes mellitus – a major public health problem – the importance of detecting, treating and monitoring this condition, as well as preventing complications. The event was attended by important personalities in the field of Health, who through their activity contribute to creating the necessary conditions to ensure the best possible access to diabetes prevention and treatment services: the Minister of Health, the WHO representative in Romania, the Presidential Adviser on health issues, the State Counselor of the Prime Minister on health issues, the President of the National Health Insurance Company, President of the ITRE Committee of the European Parliament, Chair of the Diabetes Commission of the Society of General Practitioners; representatives of patient associations, pharmaceutical industry and journalists.
