A Milestone in Diabetes Awareness : Train Health Services

In an unprecedented move, CCL joined forces with Pak Railways, pioneering a monumental initiative in global healthcare – Train Health Services focusing primarily on diabetes awareness and support, a world-first endeavor! 🌟

Pakistan, being an average-income country, witnesses masses relying on Pak Railways due to its affordability. These individuals represent a demographic part that requires heightened attention regarding disease prevention and health awareness. With Pakistan being the leading country in diabetes prevalence, boasting 33 million diabetics with 1 in 4 adults affected, there's an urgent need for robust initiatives aimed at engaging the masses in diabetes awareness activities.

Covering a remarkable span of 24 railway stations from Peshawar to Karachi, this groundbreaking effort screened approximately 8,000 individuals for diabetes in a single day. Additionally, we dedicatedly educated 200 healthcare professionals, empowering them with valuable insights on diabetes management and awareness.

This extraordinary journey, spanning 1395 kilometers across Pakistan, has not only set a new record for diabetes awareness but also established an unprecedent example for the longest travel dedicated to spreading awareness on World Diabetes Day.

The train itself was a beacon of awareness, adorned with messages highlighting the significance of World Diabetes Day, effectively reaching out to countless passengers along its route.

Moreover, a specialized clinic setup within the train equipped with BMI, BP monitoring, and screening facilities offered free medical check-ups by diabetologists, ensuring accessible healthcare for all passengers.

This monumental event marks a significant stride in diabetes awareness and support, demonstrating the power of collaboration and innovation in healthcare on a global scale.
