The Romanian Diabetes Forum, a collaborative platform that brings together patient associations, government authorities from various sectors, medical societies, and pharmaceutical industry representatives, organized an awareness campaign for this medical condition in Bucharest. On World Diabetes Day, in collaboration with the Bucharest Medical Students’ Society (SSMB), the facade of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy was illuminated in blue. The initiative aimed to raise awareness in Romania about diabetes and its impact on the quality of life for those affected by this preventable condition. Through this symbolic lighting of the university and the distribution of informational leaflets, the organizers aimed to increase public awareness and highlight the challenges faced by people with diabetes.
The Romanian Diabetes Forum’s event, which brought together patient associations, medical societies, and volunteers, aimed to draw attention to prevention and awareness of diabetes risks. Organizers encouraged the public to monitor their health and adopt a healthy lifestyle, distributed informational leaflets, suggested additional informational resources and engaged with the passerby to discuss the initiative. The Romanian Diabetes Forum provided information on the complications of diabetes, prevention methods, and the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
