"Go for Gold" is a community event for children with diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes) who attend the Nepean Hospital Paediatric Diabetes Service at the Nepean Hospital in Western Sydney in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

We are following on from the inspiring achievements of our Australian Olympic team in Paris to motivate all the families who attend our service and our health professional diabetes team alike to achieve better health and well-being for themselves and their children and patients.

For WDD 2024, this special family and community event we are inviting all families who attend our service to come together with the paediatric diabetes team at Nepean and the various diabetes technology companies (e.g. continuous glucose monitoring sensing devices (CGMS), smart insulin pens and insulin pumps and new therapies) to showcase how this ever-changing and improving technology is helping children and adolescents and their families achieve better metabolic and mental health. This we think will allow each child with diabetes reach their full potential to achieve anything they want to in their lives.

So lets all "Go for Gold" this World Diabetes Day (WDD) to help all our kids with Diabetes and their families onto the WDD podium to win a "Gold" Medal!
