To mark World Diabetes Day 2024, Central and South Genomics is holding a webinar on the significance of genetics in diabetes, hosted by Katharine Owen, Associate Professor of Diabetes at the University of Oxford.

Diabetes often runs in families, but did you know that a small percentage of people with diabetes have monogenic diabetes? This is known as Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) and has different features, diagnosis and management to type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

In this webinar Katharine will talk about how you might encounter monogenic diabetes in your practice - whether in diabetes centres, primary care or antenatal clinics - and explain why it is important to your patients to get an accurate diagnosis.

Attendees can expect to learn more about the genetic causes for diabetes and what research is currently telling us, how to identify symptoms, the testing process and treatment options.

Register now to guarantee your place at this informative event.
