Evan and classmates celebrated World Diabetes Day today, November 14, 2022. Evan, a 5th grade student was diagnosed with diabetes this past July (2022). Evan has embraced his Diabetes diagnosis with such enthusiasm and openness, ready to learn as well as share with his friends and classmates. Evan made posters about WDD and posted them throughout the school and today he made the morning announcements, school wide, sharing important information about diabetes, Evan organized a school wide Blue Day, encouraging students and staff to wear blue for World Diabetes Day as well as handed out blue bracelets to all of his 5th grade classmates. Evan shared that although he has diabetes he can still do all of the same things his friends can with a little extra planning and management. Evan is a true inspiration!
